Use of the guides

The guides on this site describe standard Excel and Google Sheets steps in general terms. Spreadsheet behaviour can vary by version, locale, and file, and the steps on this site have not yet been verified against a live Excel 365 / Google Sheets file for this site. Always work on a copy of your file, check the result, and keep your original untouched until you are satisfied.

Use of the tools

The Data Cleaner cleans pasted text in your browser. It does not open spreadsheet files, preserve formatting or formulas, parse CSV fields, convert text to numbers or dates, or fix locale separators. Duplicate removal is exact and case-sensitive after cleaning, and is off by default to prevent accidental data loss. Check cleaned output before pasting it back into a spreadsheet, and never use the tool on a file you have not backed up.

No warranty

The content and tools on this site are provided “as is”, without any warranty that a fix will work on your particular file, version, or locale, or that it will be suitable for any particular purpose. This site is not a substitute for professional advice for business-critical, financial, or legal spreadsheets.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noviq Spreadsheet Tools is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the guides or tools on this site, including data loss from applying a fix to an original file without a backup.

Content
